I am a registered clinical psychologist based in Kingston, Ontario, with over two decades of experience providing psychotherapy, counselling, and psychological assessments for adults.
What is Psychotherapy?
Many people encounter challenges that feel overwhelming, especially when usual coping strategies no longer work. Psychotherapy offers a way to learn new coping skills and address deeper, longstanding issues causing distress.
Our responses to situations often stem from past experiences, forming patterns of behavior, thoughts, and emotions that can be hard to change. In psychotherapy, these ingrained habits are explored, providing opportunities to understand them, discover alternatives, and make meaningful changes.
Psychotherapy is a confidential process for exploring and changing patterns of behaving, thinking and feeling. Two of the most important components of psychotherapy are genuine listening and accurate feedback. Successful psychotherapy fosters new and more adaptive solutions that help individuals cope better now and in the future.
My Approach
I prioritize understanding each client in a way that allows me to provide tailored care to meet individual needs. I draw upon several approaches to therapy in which I have been trained, to ensure the best fit for each client. My main areas of practice include anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, health concerns, and communication challenges.
In-person or remote
I provide in-person therapy sessions at my office in downtown Kingston, Ontario. I also provide virtual services (secure video and telephone) to clients who live anywhere in Ontario.
